A coin sword is exactly what it sounds like: replica coins threaded on a wire frame and bound into the shape of a sword. It appears in Chinese households as a wall ornament, usually hung in a hallway. This version uses brass coin replicas on a lacquered frame with a woven tassel.

Coin swords are a fixture of Chinese folk decoration: dozens or hundreds of replica coins bound onto a wire armature in the silhouette of a sword. The form is entirely ornamental — there is no blade.
This one is built on a steel wire frame bound with lacquered cotton and finished with a silk tassel. The coins are modern brass castings, plain on one face and marked on the other. It is quite rigid and has real weight, so fix it properly and keep it above head height.
