An incense holder is a small dish with a hole in the middle and a well underneath. This one is modelled as a lotus in Yixing clay, the petals formed individually by hand and the centre pierced for a standard stick. The well catches the ash so it does not scatter across the table.
Unglazed clay, so it will stain where the ash lands — normal and expected. Rinse with water when cool; never scrub it with abrasive cleaner or put it in a dishwasher.
