A silver-mounted jade pendant depends on the fitting as much as the stone: the bail has to be made to the stone rather than picked from a tray, or the pendant hangs at an angle.
The chain is sterling silver — 92.5% silver alloy, stamped S925 at the clasp — at 1.2 mm, which is a working gauge rather than a display one. Sterling tarnishes, more so in humid air; a dry cloth and a sealed bag will slow it down considerably.
