A shop opening is the one occasion in the Chinese calendar where brass is bought by the kilo, and the pieces that go into a set like this are the traditional counter objects: an open bowl, a coin tree, a pair of small figures.
The card explains where each piece is conventionally placed and nothing more. At just under two kilos the box has real presence, which is a large part of what a gift like this is for. Unpack it on a table, not on the floor or in your lap — a couple of the pieces have narrow bases.
