Traditional-Style Five-Coin Red String Bracelet
£28.80 Prices include UK VAT (20%).
The "five emperor coins" are modelled on cash coins from five reigns of the Qing dynasty — Shunzhi, Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong and Jiaqing — five emperors whose rule folk memory counts as a long run of good years. Strung on red cord, they are one of the most familiar motifs in Chinese folk custom. To be plain: these are modern brass reproductions made for jewellery, not antique currency, and we price them as what they are. Brass will deepen in tone with wear; a soft cloth brings the shine back.
