The five coins are reproductions of currency from the reigns of five Qing emperors, and in Chinese custom they are strung or kept together as a set rather than chosen individually — picking one emperor out of the five would defeat the arrangement, which is why we sell them as a group and not as five separate products.
They are replicas. Genuine Qing coins exist and are traded, and the market in them contains a great many forgeries; we do not sell antique currency and we do not describe these as such. Cast brass reproductions cost a fraction of genuine coins and are what almost every five-coin charm on the market actually is, whether or not the listing admits it.
We chose a pocket-sized format because the same coins are already sold on the site as a bracelet and as a hanging; this is the version that survives being carried around.
