Coir is coconut husk fibre, and it works as a doormat for a specific reason: the fibres are stiff and scrape dirt off a shoe rather than absorbing it the way a textile mat does. It also sheds, which is normal.
The motif is a row of coin designs in five groups. It is a print on the surface, not an inlay, so it will fade over a season or two outdoors — a doormat sees more abrasion than anything else in a house. PVC backing; do not put it on wet tile.
