The paired Pixiu is the standard arrangement in Chinese households rather than the single figure — two creatures facing outward, one holding coins and one holding an ingot, the pair being the complete set. A lone Pixiu is a modern simplification. We sell both, and mention the difference so you can choose.
The casting is single-piece, which matters at this weight: assembled figurines are usually hollow shells soldered to a base, and they sound and feel different — lighter than they look, and prone to loosening at the joint over years. This is solid throughout and weighs accordingly, which is also why it is not cheap to ship.
Brass with a natural cast finish will darken unevenly in the recesses, which is what gives it definition; a full polish flattens the modelling. We leave it as cast and provide a cloth for the raised surfaces only.
