The pi disc is a ring with a hole — one of the oldest forms in Chinese jade work, and one of the easiest to translate into metal. At this size it is a flat washer with a slight dome, polished on both faces.
Simple enough that it is hard to get wrong, but the difference between a good one and a cheap one is the polish in the inner hole, which most makers skip. Cast brass on a stainless split ring.
