A pair of earrings with a small six-sided obsidian prism on a sterling silver post. The facets catch light differently from a polished dome, which is why the prism cut is used for dark stones.

A faceted dark stone works differently from a polished dome: the flat faces gather the light and throw it back in discrete highlights rather than one soft sheen, which gives a black stone some definition. Obsidian takes an excellent polish and holds a sharp edge.
The prisms are cut from natural obsidian with six sides and a flat table. Posts and backs are sterling silver, stamped S925. The stone is small enough that this is a low-risk pair for daily wear.
