The reason silver dominates good jewellery below $100 is not aesthetic — it is that it behaves predictably. A plated ring looks better on day one and worse every month after, ending as a dull base-metal band with silver remaining only in the recesses. Sterling looks slightly dull on day one and can be brought back to new indefinitely with a cloth.
An open band in silver is a compromise: it adjusts to a wider range than a closed band, and it can be re-tightened by a jeweller, but a very open band on a small finger will eventually fatigue if repeatedly bent. Set it near the size you need rather than opening it fully.
Each ring is cast, so the carved detail is identical across a run rather than varying as a hand carving would.
